The Rekindling Hope program was introduced in 2009.

A portion of last years proceeds were directed to our newest program "Rekindling Hope". Together with the help and support of social workers at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario we were able to provide a number of families battling cancer with a Family Christmas gift package donated and purchased with the funds raised from our events.

In December 2009 Credit Valley Hospital also dedicated a day in the chemotherapy ward to the STEVO Foundation. As part of the "Rekindling Hope" program we were able to provide small Christmas gift bags to many patients receiving chemotherapy treatment. The bag included a Tim Hortons' gift card, mini candy canes, a guardian angel token and either a silver wreath Christmas ornament or an AVON Crusade Jewelled Charm set.

Below are some comments from Social Workers at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, Ontario regarding our "Rekindling Hope" program followed by some photos;

"Just letting you know that all the patients have LOVED and completely appreciated the gift bags. When they were first handed out by our staff member, I stood with a patient (who was alone yesterday), to see what was in the bag and we were both completely blown away by the generosity of a complete stranger! He was extremely touched by all the "goodies" in the bag, especially the Tim’s gift card! It definitely put us both in the Christmas spirit!!"

"Please inform the STEVO Foundation that their selfless act definitely touched one patient and one nurse right before Christmas!!"

"Thanks so much for all the gifts you have delivered!!! Today is STEVO Foundation in the chemo suite!!! Lots of smiles already."

The Christmas Gift Packages were created for the families and individuals with the idea of Comfort & Hope in mind, developed around the small things that might provide comfort during the Christmas season.

We couldn't have done it without the support of AVON, GDC-GameDevCo Ltd, The Hockey News, Simon & Schuster and Sobeys who all generously donated items for this program. We also would like to thank the countless individuals and companies who support us throughout the year. The rest of the items were purchased with the proceeds generated from our events.
